The Consortium
The goals of the consortium are to establish a modern-day platform for experts in the field from very high-volume pancreatic surgery centers to become “panc(reatic) pals”. In leading the PANC-PALS registry, an international multicenter pancreatic surgery registry, the consortium sets out a long-term sustainable collaboration. The technical, scientific, and governance infrastructure of the consortium will be leveraged to accelerate and facilitate efforts in pragmatic registry randomized clinical trial (RRCT) and treatment guidelines development.
Triannual meetings
The PANC-PALS consortium aims to meet three times per calendar year.
There will be a mix of both virtual meetings and in person meetings at international congresses.
All Scientific Committee members and co-investigators are invited to attend the meetings.
The Scientific Committee members present at each meeting make up the PANC-PALS Assembly.

Research studies
The PANC-PALS consortium strives to facilitate impactful research.
Investigators interested in pursuing a study will be required to submit a proposal at the upcoming meeting.
The role of the Assembly in deciding upon study proposals will be to guarantee that the efforts of PANC-PALS remain focused on the most pressing needs and that ongoing efforts are not duplicated.
A 2/3 majority support is required to approve a new study proposal.
The Assembly members will have equally weighted votes on study proposals.
Assembly members will recuse from voting on proposals from their own institution.
Our Commitment
At PANC-PALS, we are committed to providing a platform where pancreatic surgeons can connect, share their experience, and advance patient care in pancreatic surgery.
